About this desk

A small desk, kept independent

This is a set of free, private tools made for people who build their business through referrals. It has no members, no accounts and no owner you need to impress. Here is what it is, what it is not, and how to reach it.

What the desk is for

Weekly networking groups run on habits: saying a clear introduction, passing leads with care, following up, saying thank you. Habits are easier with a place to keep them. This desk is that place. It holds a pitch builder, a referral ledger and a deck of one-to-one questions, and nothing else.

It is built to be small on purpose. The pages are plain files that open without a connection. They store your work in your own browser. They do not ask who you are. If a tool stops being useful, the desk would rather remove it than make it louder.

What the desk will never do: ask for a login, show advertising, rank you against other members, collect what you type, or message anyone in your chapter.

  • No accounts
  • No advertising
  • No tracking
  • No messages sent for you

Statement of independence

Please read

BNI Referral Desk is an independent, unofficial project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Business Network International, nor by any chapter, region or officer of any networking organisation.

The desk does not publish, quote or describe any organisation’s rules, programmes, materials or statistics. The prompts, labels and wording on these pages are original. The name of the desk refers to the kind of group the tools are made for, and the letters in it carry no claim of any official connection.

If you belong to a chapter, follow your chapter’s own guidance first. Treat these pages as a private notebook beside it, and speak to your chapter directly about anything official.

Write to the desk

Corrections, ideas, a question about a tool, or a hello are all welcome. The composer below only builds a draft in your own mail program. Nothing is sent from this page, and you can read exactly what will be drafted before you open it.

Good things to write about

  1. A wrong word or a broken button

Say which page, what you did and what you expected. A line about your browser helps; the checkbox above adds it for you.

  2. A question the cards are missing

Questions that opened a good conversation for you are the best kind. Write them as you would ask them.

  3. A way the ledger should behave

Tell us what you tried to record and could not. Keep other people’s private details out of it.
